Students divided on apex courts NEET decision, The National, casualty, NEET
CHANDIGARH: With the Supreme Court decision to quash the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for admission into MBBS and post-graduate courses in medicine as well as dental courses, it is back to status quo ante.
The standoff in medical education started with the Medical Council of India”s decision to conduct the first-ever common entrance examination for medicine and dental courses this year. The proposal was, however, opposed by private medical and dental colleges. The major problem that was faced by city students was of travelling long distances across the country for applying to different institutions for admission. The Times of India spoke to students facing a problem on this issue.
