Maharashtra TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) is an examination that held every year in Maharashtra state. Maharashtra TET also known as MAHA-TET. MSCE (Maharashtra State Council of Examinations) is the authority which runs Maharashtra TET Examination. This test is declared as mandatory for the appointment of Primary Teachers in Maharashtra State. In the state “The Right of Children to free and compulsory primary education” for the age of 6 to 14 act established in 1st April 2010 due to this central government decided to Maharashtra TET is the mandatory examination. NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) is the authority which decide the eligibility/Service Conditions of the Examinations

MTET Pattern and SYLLABUS

Every MTET take examinations of LOWER PRIMARY TEACHERS and UPPER PRIMARY TEACHER. For this Schedule MTET has to take TWO GROUP of EXAMINATION.
Candidates who want to teach Lower Primary as well Upper Primary they need to sit for both MTET Examinations
MTET 1 and MTET 2
Structure of examination is set as (MCQs) Multiple Choice Questions Every question carry 1 marks each, the question have four choices to select in.

MTET 1

MTET 1 is the examination for the class section of 1st to 5th this is LOWER PRIMARY TEACHER. Candidates have to score marks in 5 (five) Subjects.
(1) Child Development and Pedagogy -30 marks
(2) Language 1 -30 marks
(3) Language 2 -30 marks
(4) Mathematics -30 marks and

(5) Environmental Studies -30 marks
Examination is of 150 marks, each section contains 30 marks.
NOTE: For language 1, candidates have to select from Marathi, English and Urdu. For Language 2 Marathi, English and Marathi/English.

MTET 2

MTET 2 is higher rather than MTET 1 this test held for the candidates who want to become teacher for the Class sections of 6th to 8th and this known as UPPER PRIMARY TEACHER. This examination consist of 5 subjects
(1) Child Development and Pedagogy -30 marks
(2) Language 1 -30 marks
(3) Language 2 -30 marks
(4) Mathematics -30 marks and
(5) Environmental Studies -30 marks
Examination is of 150 marks, each section contains 30 marks.
NOTE: For language 1, candidates have to select from Marathi, English and Urdu. For Language 2 Marathi, English and Marathi/English.
This test has slightly bit change matter in question paper because of questions came from the higher standards but the test has its own difficulty level.

Qualifying Marks for MTET
After successful completion of exam, candidates who scores 60%, will be considered as MTET Eligible, but also for the candidates belonging to SC,ST,VJ,NT,OBC, differently disabled persons have to score 55% they will be provided 5% of relaxation.
The Candidates who will pass MTET, organization will provide them MTET CERTIFICATE. This certificate is valid for Seven (7) years; MTET has no restriction about the numbers of attempts can a candidate can take; candidates can appear again and again for improving his/her score.
