HPTET is the Examination in the Himachal Pradesh state where the numbers of applicants for this examination are always large. ELIGLIBILTY and QUALIFICTIONS:
This qualification for the exam define by NCTE (National Council for Teachers Education) NCTE has right to change its Eligibility Criteria from time to time.
HPTET Qualification for the Lower Primary
Candidates have the minimum qualification of Senior Secondary and its equivalent, with marks 45 % minimum. Candidates appearing two year diploma in Elementary Education and four year degree in same (Elementary Education) B.EI.ED. Candidates have degrees of BA and BSC with least minimum marks 50% are Eligible.
HPTET Qualification for the Upper Primary
Candidates having degrees of BA/BSC and appearing for D.ED/BA/BSC in their final 2 year have marks of 45% and above, candidates appearing in B.ED., candidates passed senior secondary with 50% or above appearing for 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.ED), last year in B.A./B.SC.ED. Or B.A. (ED.)/B.ED. (Special Education) with 50% or above are Eligible.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
First candidates should know about HPTET groups
Candidates who want to become teacher of lower primary school i.e. classes 1st to 5th is come under exam category of HPTET 1.
Candidates who want to go for upper primary school i.e. classes 6th to 8th is come under HPTET 2
Candidates want to teach Lower Primary and Upper Primary has to appear for both examinations HPTET 1 and HPTET 2
HPTET 1
HPTET 1 Examination has five subjects to answer the question came in Multiple Objective Type and of 150 marks.
Duration of exam is 1hour and 30 minutes

A and B Subjects are optional. Candidates have specialty of subjects in Math/Science or Social Studies/Social Science can from choose their related subjects.
Qualifying Marks
In HPTET (Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) candidates need to score 60% of marks and for candidates which belong to any SC, ST, VJ, NT, OBC and differently disabled category have to score 55% marks to called as HPTET pass.
HPTET Certificate and Validity
After successful finalization of exam, candidates will be rewarded from HPTET certificate and the validity of this certificate is 7 years. Candidates have an option of appear in exam again and again to improve their marks.
